SQUADRON!
As the amended version of the Skope: Night Ops has just landed I wanted to take the opportunity to give you fine folks an update on what else to expect in the next patch drop and what I’m working on around that at the moment.
SKOPE: NIGHT OPS
The latest proof has come through for the Skope: Night Ops patch and they’ve got the colours spot on. I had to request a small number of colour changes on the first version as, although it was accurate to the artwork, the patch version made it seems a little flat. So mainly adding lighter greys to parts of the rifle and clothing to give a more varied colour map across the whole patch so theres always something to look at wherever the eye falls on the design.
(Ignore the strange bit of excess plastic in front of the brow, that sort of stuff gets cut out during full production.)
Time to get the art cards and stickers printed!
WOLFSPIDER CREST PATCH
To compliment your Tactical Teddies Faction Crest ranger eyes, the Wolfspiders ranger eye is already in the process of being patched! Very excited for this one, I think it’s going to fast become my favourite patch to wear out and about.
NIGHT OPS SIGNATURE PATCH
I will also be producing a new HIWEZ Signature patch to be a free gift for Squadron members with any purchase of Skope: Night Ops in the first 24hrs as I did with the Desert Ops, and naturally it is intended to match again! My only note on this one is they got the colours reversed. The final result will be black backdrop with a very dark grey signature.
FORGOTTEN DARK LARVA COMIC/POSTER/WALLPAPER
I’ve at last been able to put pen to screen and started the sketch phase for this artwork! I’ve been lost in client work for a short while now and I’m coming out the other side of a couple of large projects and my head has been clear enough to start storyboarding. It’s certainly going to keep a dark theme and we’ll get to see some of the more conscious side of the Forgotten who are for the most part a danger hive minded horde of voracious teeth and claws. I’m looking forward to seeing this poster develop.
OTHER NEWS
With client work becoming a but more manageable from September I will be looking into starting Crossroads: Chapter Two! And I am looking at plugins to be able to make the choices poll here on the Hiwez Squadron Site instead of facebook as some Squadron members aren’t on that platform. My hope is that this will make the comic choices a lot more accessible and give the website a more exclusive feel.
A few weeks ago now I asked the Squadron what they would like to see from me in the future and you threw over some great requests including things like Fan Art mashups, historical figures and their teddy counterparts, more Tactical Teddy lore and perhaps even a Wolfspider morale patch 😉 and I have taken them all into account and will be working through them over the coming weeks.
If you are only hearing about these requests for the first time because it was a Facebook comments conversation then please pop your requests and suggestions in the comments of this blog and I will add them to my list. If it’s something I can do then it will be done.
